Executive Director  (Full-Time with Benefits)

Organization: City of Tuskegee-Macon County Head Start
Location: Tuskegee, AL

DESCRIPTION:
The Executive Director is responsible for oversight of the implementation of day-to-day operations, evaluation of the Early Head Start/Head Start and Pre-K programs, and achievement of the Federal Standards, Head Start Act, State of Alabama DHR Minimum Standards, Alabama First Class Pre-K guidelines, QRIS, State/Local requirements for centers, and program’s policies and procedures. The Executive Director works in collaboration with the Policy Council and Board (City Council) and is supervised by the City Manager with the City of Tuskegee serving as the grantee to ensure that operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in early childhood education, management, business administration, organization development, public administration or closely related field and have at least 5-8 years’ experience managing Head Start and Early Head Start programs and complexity in terms of budget, organizational structure, and quality services to children and families served. Must have experience in monitoring and supervision of numerous service area staff, fiscal management and administration. Must be familiar with the budgetary, administrative, and organizational complexity of managing federal/state grants. Must possess excellent written, public speaking and public relations skills, experience in developing and implementing program systems, human resources and fiscal management. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse populations both internally and externally. Must have a working knowledge of systems-and outcomes-based, consumer-centered, culturally-competent management. Must meet criteria for background screening as required for child care licensing and federal regulations. Must have the ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality and sound judgment.

Early Head Start Coordinator (Full-Time with Benefits)

Organization: City of Tuskegee-Macon County Head Start
Location: Tuskegee, Shorter and Notasulga, AL

DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating Early Head Start Services to infants, toddlers, pregnant moms and their families.  This position is responsible for the day to day monitoring, supervision and coordination of operations in all aspects of Early Head Start classrooms/services.  In addition, this position ensures Early Head Start program classrooms operate in compliance with the federal, state and local regulations, policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education or a related field.  Must have a minimum of (2) years’ experience in performing instructional activities in early childhood education and with infants and toddlers and/or supervisory experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Must have the ability to work with a culturally diverse group of individuals.  Must meet criteria for background screening as required for childcare licensing and federal regulations.

 

Early Head Start Teacher (Full-Time with Benefits)

DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for the planning, implementation and administration of classroom activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth and well-being of infant and toddler children. Creates a safe and nurturing environment in which 12-month-old through three-year-old children can enhance perceptual, motor and physical development, language and literacy skills, cognitive development, approaches to learning and social and emotional development and relationships, developing age-appropriate social and self-help skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a minimum of an AA degree in child development, early childhood education or equivalent; BS degree in child development, early childhood education or equivalent preferred. Must have a minimum of (2) years’ experience working in early childhood education/infants and toddlers.  Must have the ability to work with a culturally diverse group of individuals.  Must meet criteria for background screening as required for child care licensing and federal regulations.

 

Early Head Start Family Service Advocate (Full-Time with Benefits)
